Outskirts of Palanthas (Kalli)

The journey to the outskirts of Palanthas had been long. Kalli encountered other travelers along the way, even another mage, who told her he was meeting other magic-users in Palanthas. It piqued her curiosity, but she had other priorities at the moment. One involved deciding what to do with the cottage she inherited after the death of her mother - someone she had never met. The letter she received suggested clearing out the belongings and selling the cottage. Now that she was here, her heart suddenly refused to make this an easy decision.

Kalli removed the saddlebags from her horse and made certain the dapple-grey was set up with food and water. The cottage rested in an isolated area near the edge of the forest, just off a sandy path. An untended garden of wildflowers and vegetables, a stone well, and a small barn rested on the property. The scent of ocean drifted gently on the warm breeze from the nearby port city of Palanthas. Kalli carried her bags to the door, pausing before lifting the latch and pushing the door open. I don't have any memory of this cottage. Though she assumed this was the place of her birth. She stepped inside, setting her belongings on the floor beside the entrance, and closed the door behind her.
